Even though it's the same picture from frame to frame, it somehow evokes a continually changing body language as it goes. I sense a coldness in the lady in the last panel, and an uncomfortableness in the man. It was sort of intentional, but mostly accidental.
I might do more Mr. Smooth comics in the future. I can use this same image and just change the text. I didn't give it a title yet, because I'm still working on one. Mr. Smooth is ehh. Maybe Mr. Buttertongue, or Mr. Sugartongue would be funnier.
Hope everyone has a happy Christmas.
hilarious, sounds like my wife and i's pillow talk...
ReplyDeleteSuperb!
ReplyDeleteMinimal execution, maximum laughs -
your color choices make this one of your most ...dare I say...beautiful comics you've made.
Great writing underscores the differences between men and women hilariously!
I could see this as a greeting card, the image is the front, inside blank (who cares?), in the romantic humor section, if there is one...there should be.
Funny stuff!
I can only hope that one day I can be as smooth with the ladies as Mr. Smooth! Merry Christmas, Keith!
ReplyDeleteProfessor,

ReplyDeletehahaha! i think i can hear the crickets chirppin' love your comics!
ReplyDeleteha ha! thanks!
ReplyDeleteMr. Smooth is a good name...but also Buttertongue. They're both good. It's got such a contrast which is why I love it... soft, pastel-like Victorianism... and the word "poop." Great sucker punch humor. More please.

Ha Ha! I like the phrase "sucker-punch humor."
