Here's a gun stock I painted. The guy who bought it loves deer hunting. If you click and enlarge the picture you'll be able to see some tiny little deer hidden in it.
I'd be interested in knowing what protective you used too! Ramblin' Jack Elliott is big on painting the pick guards on his guitars, I wouldn't mind trying that myself.
Lysdexicuss and Jeff, to be honest I don't know what was sprayed onto it to protect it because I wasn't the one who sprayed it. I believe the guy sprayed it with the same clear-coat stuff they use on cars.
Also Jeff, a pickguard takes a lot of beatin' and scratchin'. I wonder if polyurethane would be strong enough to protect a paint job.
I spend most of my time devising evil plots in my secret villian's lair, underground. I pride myself on my wonderous ability to commit advanced acts of devious and sinister trickery without guilt.

By the way, I didn't think I'd have to say it but it keeps happening.
No one is allowed to use my illustrations without my permission. I like the idea of ME being paid for my work instead of other people.
I think when you paint a deer on a gun, you call it venison. Beautiful job on the painting. Call me for donations to widow and orphans fund.
ReplyDeletewhat did you use to coat/protect it from hand-oils and wear ? i wanna see more close-ups.
