Originally there were bats in the sky but I felt like they served no purpose and cluttered it up, so I instructed them to skeedaddle. I also didn't want people to think the bats somehow played a part in the joke. Since these are minimalist style comics I figured if an entity didn't absolutely have a specific purpose for being there it needed to not be there.

Two things crack me up in this, my new-found favorite comic strip: the beads of sweat skidaddling off the Count's face in panels 3&4 (especially 4) and the eye-balls in the last panel... I swear they've got an exasperated look in them. LOL

ReplyDeleteKW, I love this! Hilarious! love your comedic timing! and your logic!
ReplyDeleteMy opinion on the bats - nothing wrong with having bats in the panel, sure they don't play a role in the joke, but they help set the mood of this type o'comic...tho eight is a little distracting, i'd go with three or four...that's just me.
i agree w/ mykal...more please.
ReplyDeletethis strip reminds me of spy vs spy only to be
honest this is better
Thanks guys for the kind words and encouragement. When I look at it today it does seem like bats would be better. I like the idea of less bats. that's a good plan.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
