Somewhere on him it says Mego and he stands 12" high. Seems like every kid I knew back in the 70s coveted one of these.
There was also a Remco Spider-Man toy which came out around the same time. Its arms and legs didn't move so neither I nor any of my friends wanted that one. I remember its hand was in a fixed upward web-shooting position and there was a retractable web (string with a hook on it) which would hoist him upwards. I kind of wish I had him now.

I love the bon vivant, Hollywood smile of the Hulk in this toy. Hulk will charm and smash!ReplyDelete
There were also 12 inch Mego Superman, Lex Luthor, and Marlon Brando (Jor-el) dolls. Hulk should have been a 16 inch doll to compensate, to make for more accurate proportions. I think there was also a 12 inch Wonder Woman (nyah-ah)~!ReplyDelete
I have that 12" Hulk. But he's missing his shirt.ReplyDelete
Mykal,ha ha! from that angle he DOES look like he's smiling! ha ha!ReplyDelete
Lysdexicuss, I guess the Wonder Woman toys didn't sell very well. Girls didn't like super heroes, and boys didn't like girl super heroes.
Erik, Shirtless is more authentic! The shirt is weird anyway. It looks like something a Kung Fu Master would wear.
New Idea: 'Charming Hulk with Kung Fu Grip'ReplyDelete
Someone needs to make this doll~!
I'd buy it!ReplyDelete
HA! I had that spiderman doll. i dont even remember that his arms and legs didnt move, it didnt reall matter though because that grappling hook was awesome!! i wish i still had it...ReplyDelete
if you have $45 to blow you can go onto ebay right now and buy a box it came in. ha ha! no telling how much the actual toy would be.ReplyDelete
