THE BLOODY SWORD OF BIGFOOT

Here are a couple pages from a note book. I like the idea of a sword-wielding sasquatch. I might paint this as a fake movie poster. It would also be a fun comic book.

At 1st I tried to think of 3 famous hairy people to star in this movie. All I could come up with was 1 guy and it's kind of a cliche to make hairy Robin Williams jokes now. Then I thought about 3 of the most horrible women I could think of, women who seem sasquatchy to me.

It seemed funny in my head but now that I see it written on paper I'm repulsed by it. Especially the Rosie O'Donnell part. She's the most digusting man in show biz and the thought of her being in it makes me hate it. Will someone give me some hairy famous people names so I can change it?

  1. KW: Man, you picked a wrong era to try to pick hairy people, since the style now is for men to have absolutely no body hair at all. They all look like newly-hatched newts. I can't think of a single male actor that is hairy, except the afore-mentioned Robin Williams, who seems to have enough hair for an entire generation of actors. I'd like to see Meryl Streep as one of the sasquatch swordsman. People are always saying she can play anything. -- Mykal

  2. The playfulness of your sketchbooks remind me of Harvey Kurtzman's Jungle Book~ which has seen several printings and become something of a cult classic. Kurtz also did the entire piece (graphic novel length) on lined notebook paper~!

keep it up keep it up~!

  3. Thanks Lysdexicuss!
I know that HK jungle book you're talking about. I like drawing on lined paper. White paper makes me tense up a bit more since it's so shiny and new. I'd hate to ruin it.

  4. I can think of a few hairy celebs. Tom Selleck was always strutting around shirtless on Magnum P.I., and looked pretty hairy. I think Alec Baldwin and Pierce Brosnan are as well. Steve Carrell had that chest waxing scene in 40 Year Old Virgin. Sean Connery in his James Bond days?

I think it would be funny to include two males actors, but leave Rosie O'Donnell up there.

I like drawing on lined paper too. I have the same problem as you drawing in a nice sketchbook-- I feel pressure to draw everything in it perfectly, with no looseness or potential to mess something up.

  5. Oh yeah, I forgot about Sean Connery.

i wonder if lined paper is actually more expensive than plain white paper. It seems like more work to make it. if that's the case then i'm gonna be even more uncomfortable using that.

  6. James Caan back in the day was pretty hairy too.
But, the whole concept of a sword-wielding Sasquatch is sooo cool.
The other day when I stumbled across the comic book Atomic-Robo I was so inspired that I wanted to create my own swipe...you've done it Keith.
    Maybe I could have Nuclear Yeti...or Thermo-Ventriloquist Dummy :)

Haha! Use the spinner dial approach to get a comic name. NICE! Certain words are fun already, and put them together with other fun words - it's a sure thing.
